motor racing and formula one
grrrrrrroooooooooovy asked:

Kyle Busch has talked about one day driving a Formula One car.
Today at Atlanta Motor Speedway he discussed what it is about F1 that appeals to him.

“I think the part of F1 that appeals to me the most is just the worldwide exposure,” he said. Being able to race in different parts of the world like Monaco, Silverstone … and just going around to all the different areas and seeing what it’s all about.”

“It would be fun to just go do that stuff and see just exactly how good you are against the best in the world. As far as racing talent that’s over there — I wish that (Michael) Schumacher was still around to get a chance to race against him, but Lewis Hamilton seems to have found his stride and (Felipe) Massa has also done a great job.”

Busch said he talked to Jeff Gordon about his off-season excursion to Brazil to race go-karts against the best drivers in the world.

“He said those guys are just outrageous and they are so good and so good at being able to finesse a car and make it do what they want it to do,” he said. “Here, we try to make the car do what we want it to do, but basically we’re just the ones at its mercy.”

Just wondering that since NASCAR is probably going to lose one of its biggest stars to Formula 1 in the near future how all of you guys feel? Kyle said he wants to race against THE BEST IN THE WORLD and obviously thats in F1. Thats quite a snub on his own racing series isnt it?
Jeff Gordon seems to be pretty impressed by what they are able to do in terms of car control as well.

Who was the last driver in F1 to regularly drive in an alternate series, just for the joy of motor racing?

Motor Racing
headsiwin asked:

Thx Julian. Informative as ever.
The reason I ask is because of the previous question.
You know, F1 drivers spend an inordinate amount of time training (a legacy of Herr Schhhu! - bless me! - i think ), but why don’t they just do what they enjoy to get their training in…racing.Makes sense to me, but then I don’t work in insurance or F1….
I’M LOOKING MORE FOR F1 DRIVERS THAT HAVE AN F1 SEAT AND AND AND SEEK THEIR PLEASURE ELSEWHERE….seems contracts or prima donnaism has stopped play to me!
If I had the chance I would be racing every day of the week…where’s the passion gone???
Sorry to hear that Rosbif….there’s only a certain type of prick that would go outta their way to do stupidity like that….like I said “he should keep his oxygen starved thoughts to himself”
What was the answer to #3 anyway? Was it Vettel? Seemed to obvious, but…
Nice one Blip. I think the driver’s these days are having the usual barrier put in their way….Corporate Interest….YAWN!! This is interesting I think….. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_Moss
….Lewis’ wiki update goes something like “went to the gym for 5 hours, made an appearance at XXX corporate event, had a nutrition packed meal and slept for 8 hours, ad nauseum….”
Should slip him something in his green tea…. :) Ah….Panis - Didn’t he get his “back-wheels-wet” more often than not? :P
